Product Description

Scapa Single Malt Scotch Whisky Skiran is a product of the Scapa distillery located on the remote island of Orkney, off the northern coast of Scotland. It is a non-age-statement single malt whisky, which means that it has no specific age statement on the bottle.

The name “Skiran” comes from the Old Norse word for “glittering bright skies”, which is a reference to the long summer days that are experienced in Orkney, where the sun never fully sets during certain times of the year.

Scapa Skiran is made using unpeated malted barley and water from a natural spring called Lingro Burn, which is located on the island. The whisky is then matured in a combination of American oak and first-fill ex-bourbon casks, which are said to impart a sweet and citrusy flavor profile to the whisky.

Tasting notes for Scapa Skiran typically include aromas of fresh citrus and vanilla, with a hint of honey and floral notes. On the palate, it is said to be smooth and creamy, with flavors of ripe tropical fruits, vanilla, and a slight hint of smoke. The finish is long and warming, with a gentle sweetness that lingers on the tongue.
