Kanya by Paul John is an Indian single malt whisky produced by the John Distilleries company, which is based in Bangalore, India. The whisky is named after the Hindu goddess Kanya Kumari, who is considered to be the goddess of purity and virginity.
Kanya is made using 100% Indian barley, which is grown in the foothills of the Himalayas and the plains of Punjab and Rajasthan. The barley is malted and then distilled in copper pot stills before being matured in American white oak casks.
The whisky is non-chill filtered and bottled at 50% ABV, which gives it a rich and full-bodied flavor profile. On the nose, Kanya has notes of tropical fruits, vanilla, and honey, while the palate is dominated by flavors of oak, caramel, and spice.
